Candice completed her Master of Science Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in August 2005 and has counseled individuals on diet and lifestyle choices since then. This training concentrated on human biochemistry, physiology, and pathophysiology as well as nutrients and their functions and mechanisms of action in the human body during health and disease. This knowledge allows Candice to scrutinize the experimental design and biostatistical analysis of nutrition research published in peer-reviewed scientific journals to determine whether or not the outcome(s) stated truly offer scientifically sound, safe, and effective interventions for common health-related issues. As such Candice is well-equipped to stay abreast of the latest research and interventions in nutritional therapeutics and counsel individuals on the safety and efficacy of using such interventions for their own personal health issues.
Candice completed licensure requirements in her home state, New Mexico, to become a Licensed Nutritionist. She has worked in public and private health care providing individual as well as group nutrition and diabetes education/counseling.
In her quest to ascertain the ideal nutrition and lifestyle program she discovered the work of Diana Schwarzbein, M.D. Based on sound principles of human biochemistry and physiology and backed by 15 years of clinical experience by Dr. Schwarzbein, Candice was convinced of the efficacy of this program. After training with Dr. Schwarzbein and successfully completing the rigorous exams required for certification Candice became a Level 1 (general) and Level 2 (gastrointestinal) Schwarzbein Referral Practitioner. Candice is dedicated and well-prepared to counsel individuals and groups on the fundamentals and practical applications of this lifestyle program as well as safe and effective natural alternatives to many common health conditions.
